Our church is also involved with many ecumenical groups such as the Community Prayer Path and Labyrinth, Habitat for Humanity, Community Hot Meal, Huron Food Pantry, Salvation Army, Ministerial Association, Vacation Bible School, other worship services and events.

A New Dawn is a bereavement support group for adult survivors of divorce. This group is a one-time per week / 6-session group that will help grieving divorcees normalize and cope with their unique grieving experience. In addition to providing information about the grieving process in general, this group will cover topics pertaining to the unique struggles that a newly divorced person will face in their grief. Brought to you by Stein Hospice. Group Dates: August 17th, August 24th, August 31st, September 7th, September 14th, September 21st. All sessions will be held at United Methodist Church 338 Williams St. Huron Ohio 44839 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Learn and practice Ballroom Dancing! This group meets Tuesdays at 7:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Interested persons may stop in any Tuesday evening and meet the group. Come as a single or a couple.

Under the direction of Ron Brooker, the Chancel Choir blesses our 10:00 AM worship service with their glorious anthems on Sunday mornings from September through May. Practice is held each week on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM. New members are always welcome and may join at any time — no audition required.

Clogging is truly an American dance style that originated in the Appalachian Mountains but differs from tap dancing in technique and equipment. The Christian Cloggers Dance Team is a faith-based ministry. They dance at nursing homes, assisted living residences, festivals, fairs and church events throughout Erie, Huron and surrounding counties. Their musical selections include pop/rock, country, patriotic, contemporary Christian, Celtic and Christmas tunes. This group meets Mondays and Thursdays at 5:00 PM. Emotions Anonymous (EA) is meeting at HUMC on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in Room 5 (Prayer Room). EA offers a 12-step program to help people cope with stress in daily living and to live a healthier emotional life. The program is open to anyone who has a desire to become emotionally well. Members attend for various reasons, among them depression, anxiety, relationship problems and other emotional difficulties.

These volunteers are on-call to prepare a dish and/or help serve a lunch on the occasion of a funeral. This meal is a great comfort to family and friends during their time of grief. Please call to join or help.

Heart of Ohio Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal weekend retreat program set up separately for teens, men, and women. Over 50 of our church members have attended. Check out the schedule on www.heartofohioemmaus.org .

The Huron United Methodist Church Quilt Connection was formed in April of 2013 by Cathi Dix and Beth Anne McFarland out of their love for quilts. The group has grown to about a dozen members who meet to share their knowledge, enjoy great fellowship, and “connect” with a mission focus. “Business” meeting is one Monday per month at 7:00 PM in the Youth Lounge (the Monday that precedes the 3rd Friday). Additionally, “Quilt & Stitch Days” are scheduled for the first and third Fridays of each month to work on any sewing project and last from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (BYO Lunch). Projects include making quilts for the Flat Rock Homes Quilt Auction, Prayer Quilts, our 150th Anniversary Signature Quilt, as well as individual projects. New quilters are always welcome.

Women’s Bible Study offers a Fall session and a Winter/Spring session, on Tuesday mornings from 9:00-11:00. Studies use DVDs and study guide workbooks from the Bible studies by Christian women authors and run for 7-12 consecutive weeks. This program is open to anyone. Purchase of the workbook is the only expense (usually under $20). This next session is already scheduled… Spring Study beginning Tuesday, March 21, 2017 (9:00-11:00 AM) for 7 weeks: “Gideon” by Priscilla Shirer. Winter Study: TBD
