Accessibility

For the past several years, we have been working diligently to make our buildings and programs available to all. We began by producing large print bulletins every Sunday, purchasing large print hymnals and Bibles, and projecting song lyrics at both worship services. We continued by adding an ADA compliant door and ramps from the outside into the Fellowship Hall wing and installed a wheelchair lift into the front of the sanctuary. The first rider remarked, “Need a lift? Come to Huron UMC!”.

We have been honored with a grant from the Joni Eareckson, “Joni and Friends”, Christian Fund for the Disabled. This has enabled us to install a ramp directly into the sanctuary wing of the church and cut out four wheelchair spaces in the pews.

We are not done yet and are always looking for new ideas to accommodate more souls who wish to join us in Christian worship, study, and service. The United Methodist motto is, “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors”.
