Logos

Logos is a dynamic, nationally recognized study, worship and play/activity program for children in first through sixth grades. The group meets Wednesday afternoons and evenings.  First through fourth grades meet from 3:30 - 6:30, and the fifth and sixth graders meet from 5:00 - 7:30, as noted above.  Dinner is included at every session, and each week had a special theme.  The program is divided into two semesters: Fall (September through December), and Winter (January through April).  Semester fees are $35.00 for the first child, and $30.00 for each additional child.  Involvement of at least one parent is required.  Nursery service is provided if necessary.  Call the church to register.

Confirmation

Confirmation meets every Sunday evening (with holiday breaks) from October through May, from 6:30 to 7:30.  A snack is included at every meeting.  The classes are taught by Rev. Roger, and an adult team.  In addition to the weekly meetings, service projects, field trips, worship and prayer, singing, retreats, and fun activities such as skiing and paint-balling are scheduled throughout the year.  After completing two years of the confirmation program children are ready to be confirmed to the church, and become members.

Huron Youth Ministries

Huron Youth Ministries (HYM) meets Sundays 6:30 to 7:30 in the youth lounge located in the basement of the church.  There is a different topic for discussion each week, as well as plenty of time for socializing. The group is involved in all of the activities listed above as well as thing like selling parking at the Huron River Fest, and an annual 24-hour Bible reading.  The group is led by our staff youth director, Lynn Bronner.  The group also meets at 9:00 Sunday mornings for Sunday School.

Child Protection Policy
Huron United Methodist Church is committed to protecting your child from any form of accident or abuse.  A task force has worked through the United Methodist Child Protection Policy Manual.  Two fingerprinting and background check sessions have been held for our adults working with children and youth.  The Trustees have installed electrical outlet covers and windows in all classroom doors.  Other policies and procedures have been adopted, such as classroom sign-in/sign-out sheets.  Rev Roger has attended two sexual ethics/child protection workshops mandated by the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church
